post the specs of your computer(s). here are mine:
my one back home in bama: 2 GHz (I think) 2 GB RAM 500 GB disk space GeForce 6600 GT can't remember if anything else is special
laptop: MacBook (white) 2.4 GHz 4 GB RAM 240 GB disk space nothing else special...
at work (haha, this one's crazy): 8 x 2 GHz processors 16 GB RAM 2 TB disk space + 2TB external hard drive (some crazy graphics card - 2 of them)

o right!!! no wonder i couldn't remember what the GHz on it was. it's an AMD 5500+ or something. i dunno what that translates to, but yea, it's faster than 2 GHz.
(almost) all my coworkers are > 30 yrs old and prolly not gamers.

one word: Gaming
of course that much power and memory headroom is also vital for video editing and intensive graphics work. Specs can be dictated by usage, which depends on the user. So what seems excessive to one might be an absolute must to another. Its like Shabbir and his friggin army of hard drives. Of course specs can also be driven by indulgence, which is always fun too XD

Not much of anything since I don't let her anywhere near them without my supervision. But she has her own computer, and even at six knows how to use it like a pro.
