So i wear a number of accessories at ALL times unless i'm asleep or showering: my metal washer and nut necklace, my skull dogtag necklace, my leather braided bracelet, and my old metal necklace that i wear as a bracelet. My favorite of all of these is the skull dogtag. My little sister who is amazing got it for me a year or so ago because "since youre in a band you have to wear skull stuff!" XD love her! Anyway she has good taste because this necklace looks so bad ass, all the wear and tear only makes it look cooler! Its very special to me and i will wear it until it crumbles into dust >=o It is pictured here....*GASP* but something is missing! Attachments:

the tools for the job! my trusty soldering iron and electrical solder. These puppies are very familiar with the guts of all the guitars i've ever owned because i'm always rewiring stuff to make shit sound more awesome--but i've never used them to fix jewelry before! Attachments:

success! it looks considerably more bad ass now since there's a wad of ugly solder holding the skull to its loop! just another battle scar that adds to the history. I look at guitars and life the same way, coincidentally. well anyway... thanks for watching! Attachments:

I never clip the excess string from my guitars. o.O

i dont "clip" it either, its actually inferior to my technique of twisting the excess string back and forth until it pops off. the result is a perfectly clean wrap with no pointy stub sticking out from the tuning head.

lol actually as much as i do it, i really hate soldering. really really really hate it. if i had a third hand then maybe i wouldnt hate it so much. Buts its like a balancing act where either you or your expensive stuff is gonna get burned if you arent careful

I love to solder. I'm really effing good at it, too. It comes from circuit boards, though, not guitars.

lol. You'll have that. It's one of things that takes like... crazy dexterity. I'm surprised you say you aren't good at it. Most people that can play guitar tend to be relatively dextrous in the finger area. Oh, my.

oh no i've certainly got the fine motor skills needed and then some, its just i wish i could make a bubble around the solder area that turns off newtonian physics so i dont have to worry about a piece of the puzzle moving out of place and stuff. ^_^

Meh. It's just one of those things that comes with practice.

I broke two priceless pieces of jewelry that I wish I could fix on my own. Lucky you could fix yours!
