traded in Assassins Creed 2 on PS3 to get this. God AC2 was so damn boring
WOW! What a fantastic fantastic addition to the Silent Hill franchise. I just bought this one today and am blown away by its unique take on the world of Silent Hill. This is so refreshing after that cock sucking piece of garbage, SIlent Hill: Homecoming. I love this series to death so its good to see it back on track after the tragic demise of the Japanese team.
Its not PERFECT, for sure. The lack of combat worried me to death at first, but as you get lost in the exploration aspect you find yourself not even missing it. I've spent an effing decade killing nurses and shit with a lead pipe, I dont mind sitting it out this once. HOWEVER; the "chase" sequences that replace the combat are absolutely horrid. One time I realized I was going in circles. Pretty irritating stuff. They don't even add to the horror or anything. They dont scare the player, they just make the player roll his/her eyes and pray they can get back to the good stuff soon enough.....and the good stuff is so fucking win
This experience absolutely would not be the same on any other console. The graphics are very pleasing despite being on the Wii--I didnt even know a Wii game could look this good. Hell this game would look good as is on any of the current systems. The Wii-mote is used very well in this game and I'm kind of scratching my head wondering how the coming PS2 port of the game will be remotely(ha! see what I did there!?) as good.
And here comes the tragedy....this game has a glitch that can happen with the cell phone. I didnt know about it beforehand and had to reload my save......which lost me like 3 or 4 hours of progress including a really really annoying chase sequence. grrrr! Now I know to save after chase sequences or puzzles. (btw there's this one puzzle in the game involving shadows that makes you feel like a fucking genius)
anyway...so yeah Ollie if anyone at your base has a Wii become their best friend and make them buy this game. There's also PS2 and PSP versions coming out.
