Right now i'm just trying to properly build the backstory and the E-Dusk universe. Just posted the song of the patient mother which is part of the Kolovian lore. FYI Kolovians are the repressed people i mentioned in my original RP idea in the RP requests thread. The invading forces are the AEC (Allied Earth Colonies).
Will be posting more Kolovian lore as it comes to me as well as some info on the AEC. I think i'll do some timelines as well. one to show AEC history, and one specifically about Kolovian colonization. Or i might do Kolovian colonization via journal entries from a NPC.
meanwhile i'm wondering how i'm gonna stat this sucker up. for the AEC, there will be various classes: rifleman, shock trooper, assault, scout, medic, engineer, and heavy. Let me know if that seems like too much variety, i can take some of those out or combine them. While AEC characters will have superior equipment, configurations arent very customizable.
Kolovians have a lot more flexibility, but there is a little more asked of the player when creating a character. Every Kolovian's armor looks unique so some descriptions/illustrations will be in order. For classes i'm thinking: lancer, shock, miner, scout, and maybe one more. Kolovian classes are kind of like hybrids, and they are fundamentally very different from AEC classes. so its not like you have one class on one side to counter another class on the other side. There is an intentional lack of balance here.
for example the miner class is like a combination of the AEC shock trooper, engineer, and heavy. they have no ranged attacks at all, but are ferocious in close quarters. They can set up explosives and traps, and their powered pickaxes are ideal for tackling AEC heavy armor. They lack speed, so they arent the best alternative to Kolovian/AEC shock troops, but they can handle the job if they have to.
Kolovian lancers use no firearms, instead using powered "lances" (basically huge gas driven pistons with sharp tips) and spears. The spears are designed to branch out at the tip after impact (like a reverse umbrella) causing a network of metal to tear at an opponent's vitals. lancers wear the heaviest armor of the Kolovian classes, but still have a speed advantage over AEC heavies.
anyway those are just some ideas i have bouncing around in my head. hopefully you have an idea of where this is headed. If you have any feedback or questions please let me know!
